Angelina Jolie, who represented the UN High Commission for Refugees, accused Israel of violating international law and described Gaza as having been an “open-air prison” for nearly two decades, according to her statement a week ago.
Jolie also added that world leaders are implicated in these crimes by refusing to demand a humanitarian ceasefire and by preventing the UN Security Council from imposing one on both parties.
Her remarks were angrily condemned by her father, actor Jon Voight. “I am very disappointed that my daughter, like so many, has no understanding of God’s honour, God’s truths,” he said in a video posted on Instagram.
