Canadian singer Celine Dion no longer has ‘control over her muscles’ due to a rare neurological disorder known as stiff-person syndrome (SPS), according to her older sister, Claudette, told a French media outlet.
Claudette added Celine still wants to perform despite her illness, saying, It’s true that in both our dreams and hers, the goal is to return to the stage.
The star announced her diagnosis in December 2022 through an emotional Instagram video, saying that the symptoms are what have been causing her to have severe muscle spasms in the past.
“The spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to,” Celine Dion said.
