Egypt to issue EGP 130 bln treasury bills
The Central Bank of Egypt will issue new treasury bills (T-bills) worth 130 billion Egyptian Pounds on Thursday January 18th, 2024 and Sunday 21th January, 2024, according to its data on their website.
The value of the first bid is 70 billion pounds, divided equally on two tranches, the first tranche is for a period of 182 days to be maturated on 23/07/2024 while the second tranche is for 364 days to be maturated on 21/01/2025.
The second bid will issue on two tranches, the first one amounts 40 billion pounds for a period of 91 days to be executed on 23/04/2024. While, the second one totals 20 billion pounds for 273 days to be maturated on 22/10/2024.
This month, the CBE auctioned 2.75 billion Egyptian Pounds T-bills and accepted 124.61 billion pounds in bids. The bank issues T-bills on behalf of the Ministry of Finance to fund the budget deficit.
