Egyptian pound up, USD rates slip

Egypt’s pound currency’s foreign exchange rate against USD experienced a slight increase at the start of trading on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.

The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) offered a purchase price of 47.12 Egyptian pounds and a sale price of 47.22 Egyptian pounds for the US dollar.

Both Banque Misr and Banque du Caire quoted the dollar at 47.13 Egyptian pounds for buying and 47.23 Egyptian pounds for selling.

The Commercial International Bank (CIB) and QNB ALAHLI listed the dollar rates at 47.10/47.207 Egyptian pounds.

Faisal Islamic Bank set the dollar rates at 47.05 for buying and 47.15 for selling, while Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt (ADIB Egypt) offered the highest exchange rates at 47.22 for buying and 47.32 for selling.

The Arab African International Bank, the United Bank, and the Housing and Development Bank all recorded the dollar price at 47.10 pounds for purchase and 47.207 pounds for sale.
