Faculty of Commerce – Ain Shams University establishes a new unit for supporting, developing and financing small enterprises for its students and graduates, in collaboration with United Bank – Egypt and Social Fund for Development (SFD), with maximum of EGP 1 million for the individual project and of EGP 5 million for the group project, said Dr. Tarek Hammad, dean of the Faculty of Commerce.
The project aims at spreading the culture of self-employment among youths; instead of waiting to be appointed by the government amid the current economic recession.
The unit will train students and graduates on conducting studies for establishing and managing small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The unit will also offer them the required financing through United Bank, SFD and other banks.
The board of directors of the unit includes Mohamed Ashmawy, chairman of United Bank; adviser to the Minister of Investment for small enterprises; assistant to the chairman of SFD; Yomna EL-Hamaky, head of Economic department at Ain Shams University; and Tarek Hammad, dean of Faculty of Commerce as well as the deputy dean and head of the unit.
The board of directors will hold a meeting this week to discuss the final features of the project before being launched.
