Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced that the petroleum sector successfully fulfilled the fuel needs of power plants as of Sunday, marking a key milestone in the government’s initiative to halt scheduled power cuts.
Moreover, Sunday saw a record-breaking fuel consumption of approximately 165 million cubic metres of oil equivalent per day, including natural gas and liquid petroleum fuels, during the peak summer period.
Continuous fuel supply and inventory levels were monitored through the ministry’s control rooms, the Petroleum Authority, and the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS).
