The Central Bank of Chile decided to maintain the monetary policy interest rate at 5.75 per cent in a unanimous vote.
According to the central bank statement, short- and long-term interest rates have decreased slightly, and the peso has depreciated due to lower copper prices. Credit remains weak, and recent economic activity has been below projections.
Inflation rates are aligned with expectations, and the central bank plans to continue reducing the rate in alignment with macroeconomic conditions and inflation targets.
