Thailand’s rice exports surge amid global demand
Thailand’s rice exports have seen a significant uptick in the first seven months of 2024, reflecting growing global demand for the staple grain.
According to official data released on Wednesday, exports rose by 21.97 per cent compared to the same period last year.
The country shipped out a total of 5.68 million tons of rice during January to July period, valued at 132.4 billion baht (approximately $3.7 billion). This represents a substantial increase of 50.97 per cent in export value year-over-year.
