Eni CEO hails Egypt’s investment climate
Claudio Descalzi, CEO of Italian energy giant Eni, praised Egypt’s efforts to create a favourable investment climate, emphasising the company’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the country’s energy sector.
During a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Monday, Descalzi highlighted the fruitful cooperation between Eni and the Egyptian government. He noted that the company is well-positioned to capitalise on Egypt’s abundant energy resources, both for domestic consumption and export markets.
The meeting also tackled Eni’s ongoing operations in Egypt, including exploration, development, and energy efficiency initiatives. The company’s commitment to sustainable practices and its contribution to Egypt’s economic development were also emphasised.
President Sisi welcomed Eni’s continued investment in Egypt and reaffirmed the government’s dedication to creating a conducive business environment. He also acknowledged the company’s positive social impact on Egyptian communities.
