Egypt’s National Organisation for Social Insurance announced on Monday an increase in minimum and maximum insurance subscription wage limits, effective January 1, 2025. The minimum wage will rise to 2,300 Egyptian pounds from 2,000 Egyptian pounds, while the maximum wage will increase to 14,500 Egyptian pounds from 12,600 Egyptian pounds.
As a result, the minimum pension for those retiring as of January 1, 2025, will increase to 1,495 Egyptian pounds, up from 1,300 Egyptian pounds, and the maximum pension will rise to 11,600 Egyptian pounds, up from 10,080 Egyptian pounds.
These changes are in accordance with the Social Insurance and Pensions Law No. 148 of 2019, which mandates an annual adjustment to these limits.
Businesses with over 100 insured employees will be able to submit wage adjustment forms electronically starting January 1, 2025.
