Sri Lanka’s total exports surged 18.57 per cent year-on-year in October 2024, according to the Export Development Board (EDB).
Merchandise exports for the month reached $1 billion, an increase of 18.22 per cent compared to the same period in 2023.
This growth was primarily driven by increased earnings from exports of apparel and textiles, tea, rubber-based products, coconut-based products, and spices and concentrates.
Services exports for October 2024 were estimated at $323 million, marking a 19.75 per cent year-on-year increase.
