Egypt’s BAPETCO achieves 1.3b barrels in 40 years

Egypt’s  BADR Petroleum Co. (BAPETCO) has marked significant milestones in its 40-year journey, with total production reaching approximately 1.3 billion barrels of oil equivalent. Currently, recoverable reserves stand at around 44 million barrels of oil and condensates, reflecting BAPETCO’s sustained contribution to Egypt’s energy sector, according to a statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum on Monday.

The company’s facilities, distributed across the Western Desert, serve as key hubs for receiving and processing gas and oil from sister companies operating in the region. Notably, BAPETCO’s processing infrastructure boasts a crude oil production capacity of 30,000 barrels per day and a maximum natural gas capacity of 340 million cubic feet.

As part of its efforts to enhance production, BAPETCO is currently drilling a new development well in the Bedr-16 area, underlining its commitment to expanding operations and driving resource sustainability to support Egypt’s energy demands.
