The European Commission (EC) disbursed €13.5 billion in grants to Germany as part of its recovery and resilience plan, according to an EC statement on Tuesday.
The payment follows Germany’s second request, submitted in September 2024, covering 42 milestones, including advancements in climate policy, clean mobility, public administration digitalisation, and investments in sustainability, digital infrastructure, childcare, and healthcare.
The commission gave a positive assessment of the request in November, leading to approval by the Economic and Financial Committee. Germany has now received €19.75 billion out of the €30.3 billion allocated under the plan.
