Malaysia’s producer price index (PPI) increased 0.3 per cent year-on-year in 2024, compared to a decrease of 1.9 per cent in 2023, according to official data released on Tuesday.
The Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) stated that the rise was mainly driven by growth in the agriculture, forestry, and fishing sectors, which saw a 7.9 per cent increase.
In December 2024, the PPI rose slightly by 0.5 per cent, marking the end of a three-month decline that began in September 2024.
