Egypt, France review higher education conference preparations

Egypt’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ayman Ashour held a meeting with France’s Ambassador to Egypt Éric Chevallier to review preparations for the upcoming Egypt-France Conference on Higher Education and Scientific Research, as per a Cabinet statement.

The two sides discussed signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Egypt and France’s higher education ministers during the event.

The meeting explored additional agreements between Egyptian and French universities, focusing on new academic programmes aligned with Egypt’s 2030 sustainable development strategy.

Ashour welcomed the decision to host part of the conference at Cairo University, highlighting its prominence in Egypt’s higher education system.

Talks also covered advanced discussions between participating universities and Egypt’s Supreme Council of Universities to enhance academic cooperation.

The meeting further reviewed progress on the new campus of the French Public University in Egypt.

Ashour noted significant construction advancements and reiterated Egypt’s commitment to supporting the project, which aims to become a smart university integrating the latest digital and technological innovations.
