BP greenlights Ginger gas project in Trinidad, Tobago

BP approved on Thursday the Ginger gas project in Trinidad and Tobago. The move comes as a part of CEO Murray Auchincloss’s strategy to reinforce the company’s focus on oil and gas.

According to a BP statement, the Ginger project will feature four subsea wells and trees connected to the existing Mahogany B platform. First gas is targeted for 2027, positioning Ginger as one of bp’s ten major projects slated for start-up between 2025 and 2027. At its peak, Ginger is expected to deliver an average production capacity of 62,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, reinforcing BP Trinidad and Tobago’s role in supporting bp’s global growth strategy.
