European stocks showed mixed performance on Monday as investors focused on unsettled US trade policies ahead of this week’s European Central Bank (ECB) meeting.
The pan-European STOXX 600 index slipped 0.37 per cent by 8:32 GMT, weighed down by a 0.33 per cent fall in Germany’s DAX and a 0.37 per cent decline in France’s CAC 40.
Spain’s IBEX 35 bucked the trend with a 0.25 per cent rise, while the UK’s FTSE 100 posted a modest gain of 0.15 per cent.
