Egypt signs medical innovation deal with German Health Alliance

Egypt’s Healthcare Authority (EHA) signed a cooperation protocol with the German Health Alliance (GHA) to strengthen collaboration in medical innovation, technology transfer, and joint healthcare investment, the Egyptian Cabinet said Monday.

The agreement aims to promote public-private partnerships and enhance access to advanced diagnostics and treatment technologies, while supporting infrastructure development and localisation of medical equipment manufacturing.

According to EHA Chairman Ahmed El-Sobky, the deal is a strategic step toward integrating German healthcare technologies into Egypt’s system, helping deliver smart, sustainable, and high-quality medical services.

El-Sobky added that the partnership includes launching model training programmes in cooperation with German firms to upskill medical and technical staff at EHA-affiliated facilities operating under Egypt’s Universal Health Insurance Authority (UHIA).
