PMI: India’s manufacturing growth eases slightly in May
The HSBC India Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI), compiled by S&P Global, decreased to 57.6 in May from 58.2 in April, remaining comfortably above the 50.0 level that indicates growth rather than contraction.
“India’s May manufacturing PMI signalled another month of robust growth in the sector, although the rate of expansion in output and new orders eased from the previous month,” said Pranjul Bhandari, chief India economist at HSBC.
