Gold hits one-week high

Gold prices surged to a one-week high on Monday due to safe-haven demand amid renewed US tariff threats and escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine, raising global trade and geopolitical concerns.

As of 12:28 AM GMT, spot gold rose 2.21 per cent to $3,362.25 per ounce, higher than its previous close of $3,289.4. Meanwhile, US gold futures grew 2.14 per cent to $3,386.46 per ounce, down from Friday’s closing price of $3,315.4.
