Tensions weigh on EGP vs US dollar at Sunday’s close

The Egyptian pound slipped against the US dollar on Sunday, June 15, 2025, according to figures released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE). The Egyptian currency lost about EGP0.84 against the US dollar at the close of trading, driven by the fallout from ongoing regional conflicts.

The CBE quoted an average buying rate of EGP 50.5694 to the dollar and a selling rate of EGP 50.6694, compared to Thursday’s rates of EGP 49.7300 and EGP 49.8300, respectively.
