China’s total trade value climbs in May ’25

China’s foreign trade recorded a 2.7 per cent year-on-year increase in May, with the total value of imports and exports reaching 3,809.8 billion yuan, as per official data published on Monday. Exports rose by 6.3 per cent to 2,276.7 billion yuan, while imports dropped 2.1 per cent to 1,533.1 billion yuan.

Over the first five months of the year, total trade amounted to 17,944.9 billion yuan, up 2.5 per cent from a year earlier. Exports rose by 7.2 per cent to 10,668.2 billion yuan, while imports declined by 3.8 per cent to 7,276.7 billion yuan.
