Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat began a two-day visit to Rome on Wednesday to discuss ICT cooperation with Italy, following an invitation from Italian Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, as per a ministry statement.
The visit builds on talks held in Cairo in April 2024, which focused on expanding bilateral collaboration, particularly in artificial intelligence to support development goals.
Talaat is expected to meet with senior Italian officials and leading ICT firms to discuss investment opportunities, exchange expertise, and promote Egypt’s growing digital economy. The visit is part of Egypt’s wider strategy to attract foreign investment and strengthen international partnerships in the tech sector.
