Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) signed a $20 million investment deal with Turkish textile group Şirikçioğlu to establish a denim fabric production factory in the Qantara West Industrial Zone.
The facility, set to span 16,700 square metres, will create around 500 direct jobs and produce 18 million fabric pieces annually. Half of the output will be exported, with the remainder supplied to factories in Egypt.
SCZONE Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Dien said this marks the 25th project in the Qantara West zone, bringing total investments there to $681.5 million and nearly 35,000 direct jobs. He highlighted the zone’s strategy to deepen local manufacturing, localise supply chains, and promote export-oriented industries.
Founded in 1997, Şirikçioğlu is a leading Turkish producer of denim yarn and fabric, exporting to major global brands and employing over 5,000 workers.
