Egypt’s AOI, China’s XGY launch medical device firm

Partnership aims to localise advanced medical device production in Egypt

Egypt’s Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) partners with Chinese medical equipment giant XGY to establish the Arab-Chinese Company for Medical Industries, focusing on local production of advanced medical devices, the Cabinet said in a statement on Wednesday.

The agreement was signed by AOI Chairman Mokhtar Abdel Latif and XGY Chairman on the sidelines of the Africa Health ExCon 2025, held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi from June 24–27.

Abdel Latif confirmed that the joint company would initially focus on diagnostic and therapeutic imaging systems, with plans to manufacture components locally and provide maintenance and spare parts services. The venture will also offer technical training programmes for engineers and technicians.

He added that the collaboration aligns with Egypt’s Vision 2030 strategy and AOI’s goal of raising local content and expanding the “Made in Egypt” brand to African, Arab, and global markets at competitive prices.
