Egypt approves LNG import deals to meet 2025–26 fuel needs

Egypt’s Cabinet was briefed on the approval by the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) to contract with several companies for the import of liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments.

The move comes in response to a request by the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) to secure multiple LNG shipments to meet the country’s petroleum product needs.

The contracts are intended to cover domestic market requirements between July 2025 and June 2026. EGPC is the authorised entity responsible for providing Egypt’s fuel supplies.
