Egypt’s National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has approved additional compensation for fixed internet users affected by the recent disruption caused by the fire at the Ramses Exchange, according to an official statement.
Prepaid fixed internet users will receive 50 per cent of their basic bundle as an extra free package, while postpaid customers will get a 30 per cent discount on their monthly bills. The authority instructed service providers to implement the compensation package.
The NTRA said the move comes as part of its efforts to mitigate the impact of the incident and ensure the protection of users’ rights. It added that it continues to monitor the quality of services provided and coordinate with operators to ensure service continuity and prevent similar disruptions.
