Egypt signs 5 protocols to support doctors, upgrade training, housing

Egypt’s Health Ministry signed five cooperation protocols on Monday with the Higher Education Ministry and the Medical Professions Risk Compensation Fund aimed at strengthening medical training, supporting doctors, and improving housing infrastructure.

The agreements include specialised workshops and training programmes in technical and administrative fields, as well as a professional diploma in patient safety and healthcare risk management accredited by the Egyptian Health Council. International and local experts will also be brought in to train doctors and nursing staff, the ministry said.

Two protocols will finance upgrades to doctors’ housing at healthcare units in Beni Suef and university hospitals in Cairo, Zagazig and Ain Shams, equipping them with modern facilities.

A fourth agreement will support doctors enrolled in the Egyptian Board programme through cooperation with the Health Council, while a fifth will provide training for medical interns at primary healthcare facilities across Egypt’s governorates.
