Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly reviewed Tuesday progress on a project to link the National Social Insurance Authority with the country’s traffic information systems, part of a broader push to unify government databases and speed up digital services.
Gamal Awad, head of the insurance authority, said the first phase of the project, launched in January, focused on cleansing databases and verifying registration data for vehicles, institutions and driving licences. The second phase centres on automated integration via the government’s digital gateway.
Awad said data exchange mechanisms for vehicle and professional licences had been agreed and that linkage programmes would be completed within six weeks. Applications are already being deployed across both the authority’s current and new systems, he added.
The project supports the Interior Ministry’s paperless traffic system and Egypt’s wider digital transformation strategy. Officials say it will cut verification times, improve service delivery and make public records more reliable.
Communications Minister Amr Talaat said his ministry was pushing ahead with digital transformation and artificial intelligence projects to boost administrative efficiency and promote a knowledge-based economy.
