Egypt’s Sisi, Qatar’s Emir condemn Israeli strikes, call for Gaza ceasefire

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha on Monday, where the two leaders condemned Israeli attacks on Qatar and urged an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, Egypt’s presidency said.

Sisi expressed condolences over what he called “the brutal Israeli aggression” against Qatar, vowing Egypt’s full solidarity and readiness to support Doha in safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Sheikh Tamim welcomed Sisi’s participation in the Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit and praised Egypt’s consistent stance in rejecting the Israeli assault and backing Arab causes.

The leaders also discussed regional stability, stressing the need for a united Arab position to defend regional security. They underscored the urgency of halting hostilities in Gaza, ensuring unimpeded humanitarian aid flows, and rejecting any attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians, the statement added.
