Egypt’s Space Agency successfully launched the SPNEX satellite on 10 December 2025 from China, with the satellite entering its designated orbit and beginning signal transmissions. On 12 December, the ground control station confirmed its orbital stability, efficient system performance, and battery levels.
SPNEX, a nano-class satellite, was fully designed, developed, assembled, and tested by Egyptian engineers at the agency’s laboratories and AIT Center since early 2022. The satellite will provide data to Egyptian universities and research centers for scientific research and space applications.
Developed with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, SPNEX serves as a scientific laboratory in space. It specialises in measuring ionospheric plasma, studying solar and magnetic storms, building ionospheric models, and supporting climate research.
