Egypt’s annual core inflation falls to 11.8% in December – CBE
Egypt’s annual core inflation eased to 11.8 per cent in December from 12.5 per cent in November, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said on Sunday.
Month-on-month, core consumer prices recorded 0.2 per cent in December, down from 0.8 per cent in November and 0.9 per cent in December 2024, the central bank added.
Core inflation, which excludes volatile items such as food and energy, is closely watched by policymakers as an indicator for the future path of interest rates.
The CBE is scheduled to release its full inflation bulletin on 15 Jan.
