Egypt declares 19-23 March public holiday for Eid al-Fitr
Egypt’s government said on Wednesday that 19-23 March, 2026 will be an official paid holiday for Eid al-Fitr for employees in the public sector.
A decree issued by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly applies to staff in ministries, government agencies, public authorities, local administration units, public sector companies, and state-owned enterprises.
Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of holy month of Ramadan, is one of the most widely celebrated holidays in Egypt and across the Muslim world.
