Egypt’s Petroleum Minister Karim Badawi reviewed on Saturday the operational readiness of the national natural gas grid to meet the fuel needs of power generation plants and the industrial sector during the summer season. The review comes amid rising temperatures and increased consumption levels in recent days.
During a visit to the National Advanced Transmission and Automation Center (NATA), Badawi followed up on the regularity of energy supplies supporting domestic production, alongside regasification vessels pumping imported liquefied natural gas (LNG) into the national grid.
He also reviewed the provision of petroleum fuels required for power plants to support supply stability and ensure the continued fulfilment of electricity and industrial demand.
