Egypt’s FRA launches violators list for non banking financial activities
The FRA board approved Decision No. 87 of 2026 on 29 April before it was published in the Egyptian Gazette on 20 May and came into effect on 21 May 2026.
The system includes a warning list for entities carrying out FRA-regulated activities without licences, a negative list for those subject to final court rulings related to violations, and an administrative measures list for entities facing licence cancellations or removal from FRA records.
Names will be added based on FRA studies reviewed by the committee responsible for criminal referrals and settlements before final approval by FRA Chairman Mohamed Farid.
The decision also allows temporary listing in cases threatening market stability or client interests, while guaranteeing hearings before inclusion on the warning list and allowing appeals within 60 days free of charge.
