Egypt’s stock market ended higher on Sunday, with the benchmark EGX30 index moving 0.11 per cent higher, data from the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed.
The EGX30, which tracks the country’s largest and most actively traded companies, closed at 5,2679.45 points. The EGX33 Shariah index grew 0.30 per cent to 5,860.52 points, while the EGX35-LV rose 0.76 per cent to 6,136.9 points.
Smaller-cap stocks also ended in positive territory. The EGX70 index of small and medium-sized enterprises surged 1.39 per cent to 15,759.79 points, and the broader EGX100 gained 1.11 per cent to 21,591.9 points.
Total market capitalisation stood at 3.761 trillion Egyptian pounds.
Non-Arab foreign investors were net buyers, purchasing 172.267 million pounds. Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers, with outflows of 73.979 million pounds and 98.288 million pounds, respectively.
