Egypt’s Cabinet approves public service status for Internal Trade Development Authority
Egypt’s Cabinet on Wednesday approved a proposal to transform the Internal Trade Development Authority (ITDA) into a public service authority, as part of broader efforts to improve the management of state assets and government-owned resources.
The change in legal status will not affect the authority’s existing responsibilities, including its role in promoting investment in the wholesale and retail trade sectors, according to a Cabinet statement.
The authority will also continue to oversee the registration of commercial activities and carry out its other mandates under the decree establishing it, the statement said.
The move aligns with the government’s wider strategy to improve the efficiency of public institutions while maintaining support for trade development and investment.
