Egyptian pound at 49.58/49.68 against dollar in midday trade – 09 July 2026
The Egyptian pound was broadly unchanged against the US dollar in midday trading on Thursday, extending a period of stability in the foreign-exchange market as steady hard-currency liquidity and improving investor sentiment continued to support the local currency.
The US dollar traded at an average of 49.58 Egyptian pounds for buying and 49.68 pounds for selling across five major banks as of 12:40 p.m. local time (0940 GMT), according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English.
