Egypt’s digital exports rose to $7.4 billion in 2025 from $6.9 billion in 2024, while outsourcing services exports more than doubled over three years to $5.2 billion, according to a new report by the Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC).
The report said Egypt’s digital transformation is advancing through growth in the digital economy, expanded infrastructure and connectivity, and increased use of digital government services.
The ICT sector recorded real growth of 13.76 per cent in fiscal year 2024/2025, up from 8.43 per cent in 2013/2014. Outsourcing exports are targeted to reach around $6 billion in 2026.
Mobile phone subscriptions reached 125.65 million in March 2026, up 8.47 per cent year on year, while active mobile internet subscriptions rose 9.48 per cent to 94.43 million. Fixed high-speed internet subscriptions reached 12.95 million.
Public ICT investment rose to 27.69 billion Egyptian pounds in 2024/2025 from 0.75 billion Egyptian pounds in 2013/2014. Homes connected to fibre-optic cables reached 4.39 million in 2024, up 43.46 per cent year on year, while the Decent Life initiative extended fibre-optic cables to 783 villages in 2025.
Use of the Digital Egypt platform also expanded, with 210 services available by the end of 2025. Users rose 32.1 per cent to 10.7 million, while transactions and inquiries exceeded 25 million, up 220.5 per cent from 2024.
The number of lawsuits filed remotely before economic courts rose to around 33,530 in 2025 from 7,690 in 2023, while automated notarisation branches increased to 691 in 2024 from 566.
Egypt ranked 22nd among 197 countries in the 2025 GovTech Maturity Index and 52nd among 195 countries in the 2025 Government AI Readiness Index. It also ranked among 12 countries scoring 100 in the 2024 Global Cybersecurity Index.
The IDSC said Egypt’s digital transformation efforts focus on infrastructure, digital government services, digital skills, and technological innovation. It added that digital transformation should increasingly be measured by its impact on citizens, including service quality, cost, time, ease of use, and satisfaction.
