IMF raises Egypt’s growth forecast to 4.7% in FY2026/27

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) raised its forecast for Egypt’s real gross domestic product growth to 4.7% in fiscal year 2026/27 from 4.4% projected in July, according to its October World Economic Outlook released on Tuesday.

Consumer prices in Egypt are projected to rise by 14.8% in fiscal year 2026/27, the report showed.

The revised growth projections point to a stronger economic outlook for Egypt than the IMF anticipated in July, although inflation is expected to remain elevated over the forecast period.
