Egypt’s vital waterway Suez Canal witnessed on Wednesday the crossing of 46 ships at weight of 2.498 million tons.
15 ships have passed through the Suez Canal coming from the North at weight of 883 thousand tons.
The biggest ship coming from the north was the UK LNG tanker Gaslog Chelsea at weight of 103 thousand tons,
Meanwhile, the number of ships passing through the Suez Canal coming from the south hit 28 at weight of 1.615 million,. The biggest ship coming from the south was the LNG tanker Marshall Islands’ Zarga at weight of 166 thousand tons.
The canal is one of Egypt’s main sources of foreign revenue. Revenues hit $438.1m in May after 1,431 vessels crossed the waterway carrying a combined cargo of 79.7m tons.
