The volume of yellow remittances disbursed in the last two weeks reached EGP 781 million, 33% of the total volume of yellow remittances, money owed by Iraq to Egyptian workers who left the country during the first Gulf War in the 1990s, according to Central Bank of Egypt (CBE)’s release today.
CBE affirmed that the value of yellow remittances is available at the banks participating in disbursing them.
In order to reduce the crowding on the banks, holders of yellow remittances shall be committed to the dates scheduled for them to disburse the value of yellow remittances, CBE noted.
