Revolutionary groups have launched a campaign urging Egyptians not to vote for former army chief Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi in the upcoming presidential election
‘Against You’ will start its activities on Monday by distributing flyers and stickers in Cairo, it said via Facebook.
On Tuesday, it will spread its activities, including graffiti painting, to other areas of the country,.
On Thursday, it will organise a human chain in solidarity with political detainees.
‘Against You’ (Deddak in Arabic) was founded by April 6 Youth Movement, Revolutionary Socialists, the Revolutionary Path Front and other groups.
The movement held a press conference on Saturday stating that its main goal was to urge people not to vote for El-Sisi.
“El-Sisi is a new Mubarak, electing him will be like a return to the old regime,” it said in a statement.
April 6 Youth Movement (Ahmed Maher Front) has announced that it will boycott the presidential election, while the Revolutionary Socialists have officially backed Nasserist politician Hamdeen Sabahi.
The presidential elections will be held on 26-27 May.
