Egyptian interim government led by Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab has tendered its resignation today to the country’s president-elect Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
Mahlab headed Monday to the presidential palace to hold a meeting with President Sisi and submitted the government’s resignation.
Meanwhile, high-profile official sources revealed that al-Sisi had tasked Mahlab with taking over the government until holding the country’s parliamentary elections.
Last February, Mahlab was asked to form a new government following former Prime Minister Hazem El-Beblawi and his cabinet’s unexpected resignation.
