Vodafone Egypt Pays EGP5bln Taxes and Insurances Annually

Vodafone Egypt agreed to pay around EGP5 billion taxes and insurances annually along with supporting information technology industry.

CEO of Vodafone Ahmed Essam said the company is participating with more than one way for supporting the national economy , noting that it paid about EGP250 million in order take care of social activities since its inception.

Vodafone is planning to invest EGP 9.5 billion in networks over the coming 3 years, Essam said.

Essam added that the company is not against the unified license and supports providing service to customers it could not completely serve and that the company is working with the ministry and the Telecom regulator, NTRA, for equal and unbiased regulations for all cell phone operators.
