Jotun Powder Coatings, one of the world’s leading producers and distributors of powder coatings, has globally launched ‘Reveal Smooth,’ the company’s latest eco-friendly premium MDF powder coating solution. The new product is the smoothest solution in the powder coatings industry to be offered for the MDF segment, guaranteeing high consistency in appearance, and outstanding scratch resistance. ‘Reveal Smooth’ has been developed to ensure an aesthetic appearance, regardless of shape, particularly across hard-to-coat rounded corners and contoured edges, leaving users with unlimited design opportunities.
With MDF powder coatings being identified as a sustainable and cost effective alternative solution to current technologies in the market, Jotun Powder Coatings has developed ‘Reveal Smooth,’ to deliver a high-end semi-matte finish, which also protects furniture from scratches and unwanted marks left by warm objects like coffee cups, thereby enabling effortless cleaning.
With no need for vinyl foils or edge banding to lift, finishing is simple; and with no delamination or peeling, the coated product will also last a lot longer. ‘Reveal Smooth’ is being offered in dynamic and custom-made colours that can be used to coat home and office furniture, retail displays, shelving and cabinets for the bathroom and kitchen.
Recent reports have shown that industries around the world are now focusing on achieving a reduction in their CO2 emissions thus minimising their contributions to global warming. With this in mind, using the low cure powder coatings, ‘Reveal Smooth,’ will help the industry to significantly decrease its eco and carbon footprint when compared to alternative technologies.
“Being the first to offer the smoothest powder coating finish for MDF surfaces, Jotun believes it has established its pioneering position in coating the furniture segment” said Olaf Conreur, Industrial Category Manager at Jotun Powder Coatings. “‘Reveal Smooth’ demonstrates our long term commitment towards developing powder coating solutions that answer the demands of the MDF coating industry, particularly for a product that adds aesthetic value and leaves a smaller eco and carbon footprint.”
