Singapore’s Foreign Affairs minister Masagos Zulkifli will attend the Egypt Economic Development Conference in Sharm El-Sheikh, from 13 to 15 March 2015, the foreign ministry announced in a statement on Thursday.
The Conference is organised by the Egyptian government, and will present new investment opportunities in Egypt to global business and political leaders.
It will showcase investment projects covering sectors such as transport and logistics, information and communications technology, oil and gas, tourism, and redevelopment of the Suez Canal region.
According to the statement, Zulkifli’s participation affirms Singapore’s continued support for the Egyptian government’s efforts to transform its economic landscape and restore foreign investor confidence.
During the Conference, he will also meet Egyptian leaders to discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral relations, it said.
The minister will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and International Enterprise Singapore.
