A delegation encompassing 150 Russian firms will visit Egypt next May, headed by Russia’s Industry Minister Denis Manturov, Egyptian trade minister announced Saturday.
Minister Mounir Fakhry Abd El Nour added that the delegation would include the largest Russian firms working in fields of gas, oil, agricultural equipments, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, construction equipments, and banking services.
A commercial industrial forum will be held as part of the Russian visit, aiming to increase the joint trade and investments between Cairo and Moscow. The Russian delegation is also set to start negotiations as regards to the free trade agreement between Egypt and Eurasian Economic Union.
Eurasian Economic Union encompasses Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Armenia.
The minister affirmed that the upcoming period would witness more joint meetings to be held by officials from the two countries.
Moreover, the minister noted that during the visit, the delegation plans to sign a number of mutual agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) in fields of investment, specifications, scientific cooperation, and Information Technology (IT).
Elsewhere, Cairo is set to host the 10th session of the Joint Russian Egyptian Committee next April 19-23.
