Egypt’s Defence Minister Sedky Sobhi met on Sunday with a United States Congress delegation in Cairo, where they discussed regional developments and international efforts to combat terrorism.
The delegation, headed by Republican Congressman Rob Wittman, the chairman of the house armed services committee, expressed their appreciation of Egypt’s efforts to create balance and stability in the region.
The congressmen also met with President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi on Saturday.
During their meeting, El-Sisi praised the resumption in March of US military aid to Egypt, which was temporarily halted following the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
