Egypt is set to get four French warships among the framework of the Egyptian-French cooperation notably in arming field, French Ambassador to Cairo André Parant announced. Three of the four warships are set to be manufactured in Alexandria.
Parant added that Egypt will receive the two Mistral class assault ships during the first half of 2016.
He made these remarks during a press conference held Tuesday in the Consulate-General of France in Alexandria.
France has delivered three Rafale jets and set to deliver another three jets within weeks, the ambassador noted.
In July 2015, Egypt has received three Rafale fighter jets from France, the first of 24 warplanes sold in a €5.2 billion (us $5.6 billion) deal earlier this year.
